Pearl River County SPCA (PRCSPCA), a vital lifeline for homeless and neglected animals in the region, has officially launched a long-term fundraising campaign to recruit 1,000 monthly donors. This initiative—born from necessity—aims to sustain the shelter’s lifesaving work amid rising operational costs, slowed adoptions, and decreased revenue from its supporting thrift store.

During the dog days of summer, adopting a pet can add new energy to our lives while making a positive contribution to the community. Pearl River County SPCA is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities® to bring adoptable pets to Slidell PetSmart (290 Town Center Parkway) in support of National Adoption Week, taking place July 21–27, 2025.

As the shelter faces increasing demands for care and support for homeless animals, these funds will directly benefit the dogs and cats who rely on PRCSPCA for a second chance at life.

The Pearl River County SPCA (PRCSPCA) is issuing an urgent call for help as overcrowding has reached crisis levels. Adult dogs are remaining in shelter care far longer than usual, with some waiting more than 200 days for adoption, creating severe strains on available kennel space. The shelter, which aims to find homes for animals within 7-21 days to allow for necessary medical treatments such as vaccinations and sterilization, is now facing an average stay of 52 days for adult dogs.

The Pearl River County SPCA is excited to announce the expansion of the HOPE Thrift Store, a project that has grown significantly since its inception. What began as a monthly yard sale during the COVID-19 pandemic has blossomed into a vital part of the community, providing much-needed support for shelter animals. The Pearl River County SPCA is thrilled to announce the launch of its "20K for 20K" fundraiser, celebrating the milestone of reaching 20,000 followers on Facebook. This special fundraiser aims to raise $20,000—just $1 for each follower—to support the shelter's mission of providing care, shelter, and love to homeless pets.

The Pearl River County SPCA is excited to announce a special adoption event starting Friday, May 17, 2024, offering adoption fees of $100 or less for select dogs and puppies. These loving and friendly dogs have been in our shelter for an extended period and are eager to find their forever homes.
