TOP TEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

You can help the SPCA by volunteering your services for any of the activities listed here, by becoming a voting member, and/or by making a tax-deductible donation.

 

YOU CAN HELP 

Pearl River County SPCA


1. Volunteer at the Picayune Animal Shelter by bathing, walking, or socializing adoptable pets, or by helping with adoption counseling. Call to set up an orientation.
2. Sit at the SPCA table at fundraising or educational events.
3. Help with cruelty investigations. We will train you.
4. Transport animals to spay/neuter appointments and/or transport wounded wildlife to Wildlife Rehab (WRANPS) in Pass Christian.
5. Help lobby for better animal cruelty laws and stricter spay and neuter legislation.
6. Help take our dogs to Petsmart in Slidell for Saturday or Sunday adoption days. Transport them, walk them, and talk to potential adopters.
7. Help take our dogs to Wal-Mart adoption days, the first Wednesday of each month. Transport them, walk them, and talk to potential adopters.
8. Provide foster care for an animal (we pay all expenses).

Puppy Rescue

9. Board large animals (horses, cows, goats, sheep, etc.) that we take custody of in cruelty cases.
10. Join our Pet Partner program and bring your well-mannered pet to nursing homes for people therapy.
